ACA NEOGEO METAL SLUG 2 is a recreation of the side-scrolling arcade shooter of the same name, with a focus on accuracy to the original and providing a fast-paced gameplay experience.

Spray And Pray

Metal Slug 2 is a stage-based shooter where you play as one of four characters with surprisingly cutesy sprites, wielding heavy machine guns (and, in this installment, other weapons) against an evil army with soldiers, tanks and worse. The game is difficult, with defeat lurking around every corner, as you'd expect from a game of its type and vintage. In terms of recreating the classic NEOGEO experience, Metal Slug 2 does very well. It uses a similar set of options as other ACA NEOGEO games, allowing you to apply a filter over the game that somewhat closely resembles an arcade machine. Though it's not perfect, it's a lot better than an average emulator, and the app makes other efforts to simulate arcade gameplay.

A Few Slugs Hit

Overall, no feature in Metal Slug 2 is perfect, although the core gameplay sings quite nicely. Rather, the multiplayer works if you're willing to play locally or compete on the online leaderboards, and the arcade simulation settings work great if you're not too picky.
